Nike Golf has added an impressive young player to its player roster. Actually, impressive may be an understatement.

Hailing from Idaho, and having attended the University of Washington, Chris won two very notable tournaments as a freshman. He was also the first golfer at the U of W to win the Ben Hogan award. Not too shabby, but it gets better. In 2012 he won the Mark H. McCormack Award, given to the world’s top-ranked amateur player. Upon receiving an award, he was also given a spot in the 2013 US Open at Merion. Nice.

Currently, Williams is making his regular tour debut at the Travelers Championship in Cromwell, Connecticut.

When asked to comment on his signing with Nike Golf, Williams offered this reply:

“Joining the Nike family is a dream come true. They have the most talented athletes and I am excited to be a part of this elite group. I am especially impressed with my new equipment and with the engineers at The Oven. Their passion and knowledge is amazing. I am excited about taking my game to new heights at the professional level with Nike Golf.”

The signing of Williams comes hot on the heels of other great, young and talented signings. Chinese phenom’s Hao-Tong Li and Xin-Jun Zhang were added to the roster last week.

Chris’ Nike Golf Gear includes:

Driver: Nike VR_S Covert Tour (9.5 Neutral)
Irons: Nike VR Pro Combo (2-PW)
Ball: Nike 20XI
Footwear: Nike Lunar Control
Apparel: Nike Tour Performance Collection

Best of luck to Chris as he pushes forward with his new Nike Golf gear!
