Miura has revealed a brand new iron, the MB001. The new offering will join the Tournament Blade and Series 1957 Small Blade in Miura’s growing catalog. As you’d expect, these hand crafted blades look absolutely amazing. I love the traditional blade look, and the new MB001 muscleback does not disappoint.
Miura MB001 Overview
The MB001 features important refinements to the sole. The shape and size has been adjusted from earlier designs to help get through the turf more efficiently, and also aids in keeping the clubface square at impact.
The top line remains narrow, providing a clean, simple look at address.
Close attention was also paid to the area from the hosel to the low-offset club head. Master clubmaker Yoshitaka Miura took extra care to make sure the flow was right, and non-reflective. In the end, the MB001 clubhead is nearly the same length heel-to-toe as the Miura Tournament Blade.

Comments from Miura
When asked to comment on the new irons, Adam Barr, President of Miura offered the following:
“We don’t automatically bring out a new blade every year, so this is a big event. The only calendar we operate on is the one in the minds of the Miuras. When they say a club is ready, we go. The MB001 contains the benefits of all the lessons we have learned in watching irons perform, since the Tournament Blade came out in 2007 and the Small Blade arrived in 2006. Players will notice the quality right away.”
