Jordan Spieth made history this past Sunday, becoming the youngest player in 82 years to win a PGA Tour event. At only 19 years, 11 months (he doesn’t turn 20 for another two weeks), Spieth plotted his shots around the Deere Run golf course with precision, and a lot of power.
Spieth outlasted and outplayed David Hearn and Zach Johnson in a gruelling playoff that went five holes. In the end, he sank a short par putt on the fifth playoff hole to cap the victory, and earn his spot in the British Open at Muirfield.
