There has been an obvious pivot when it comes to Golf Digest’s strategy these days. Sure, their website has been revamped and manicured, but in addition to that (and perhaps more importantly), they are striving to appeal to a younger crowd.
Look no further than May’s edition, an edition that featured Paulina Gretzky on the cover. For June’s edition, the funny and talented comedian and late-night talk show host Jimmy Fallon is up front.
Personally, we don’t think the move is a bad one. Appeal to a younger audience up-front, so long as the content within is still tried-and-true. Open the cover and have something for everyone, from everything from the Jimmy Fallon fan, or teenage boy lusting for Paulina Gretzky, all the way through the 50 to 60 year olds looking for tips on how to cure their slice.
There’s no doubt these moves are calculated, we just hope it works out well for the publication. So far, we’re inclined to believe it will.
