Of all the apparel and equipment we’ve received for review recently, none has brought a bigger smile to my face than the Limited Edition Embroidered Tour Shirt I received from IJP Design the other day.
For whatever reason, when I took it out of the package, I huge smile came to my face. Perhaps it’s because this is the real deal. It’s the same shirt that one of the best golfers in the world (Ian Poulter) wears on-course… and having such a garment for oneself lets you feel (in some small way) like a pro as well.
I found myself saying ‘bloody hell, how cool is this!?’. Yes, the shirt is awesome.
The shirt that arrived for me was in a nice navy blue, size small. I’m 5’10”, about 175 pounds, and It fits wonderfully. It has a nice ‘fitted’ look, and feels wonderful to wear. There’s a nice stretchiness to the fabric (it’s polyester), which is very handy when it comes to making a full turn with the driver.
The shirt itself is top notch. Materials are cool and comfortable, and the embroidery is class from top to bottom. Not a stitch out of place. There are button-down collars, and the build of the buttons themselves is actually very high-quality.
In the end, I’m VERY impressed with the shirt. It’s breathable, stylish, comfortable… and makes you feel like a hundred-darn dollars.
Below are some close-up shots of the finer details in this shirt. Very nice, very nice indeed!
Caring for the shirt
Some very simple care instructions are suggested for these tour shirts. If you want your shirt to continue to look its best, I suggest you follow these simple points for proper care:
- Wash in cold water only.
- Cool iron only
- Do NOT tumble dry
Keep the above in mind as you care for the shirt, and you’ll keep it looking as new as the day it arrived from IJP!
Put it on, check it out… then hit the first tee!
I have to admit, after putting it on for the first time, I couldn’t stop looking in the mirror. Tossing on the shirt really did make me feel special.
It’s not often regular folks like us get access to tour-used or worn products, which is why I’m so excited about the tour shirts IJP has on offer right now. If you’re anything like me, you’re going to want to pick one up for yourself, or for that hardcore golfing buddy of yours. The 2013 embroidered tour shirts are on pre-order now for $112.62 USD (£69.95). The same shirt in junior sizing goes for $80.42 USD (£49.95).
That said, I do realize the logo-emblazoned tour-sponsored look isn’t for everybody. If you’d rather have the shirt without all the embroidered logos, IJP has these on sale as well. There are many styles and colors to choose from in a wide range of prices. Two thumbs up to Ian Poulter and the team at IJP Design. Top-notch stuff!
