Cobra’s latest equipment line, the BiO CELL series, features two brand new iron sets. The first is a more traditional iron, and the second is a combo set for the higher-handicap player. Both feature a perimeter undercut, E9 face technology, and the new BiO CELL technology, the hallmark of the new line.
In both sets, the long and mid-irons feature a heavy tungsten insert in the heel and toe for more forgiveness. Short irons feature the tungsten insert centered behind the sweet spot for added distance and control.
The 3-7 irons are built from hyper 17-4 stainless steel with tungsten weighting, while the 8-LW are 431 stainless steel with tungsten weighting.
Largest sweet spots ever
The perimeter undercut on these irons is said to be the largest in Cobra’s history. For the player, it means more face flex at impact for increased ball speed and distance. Low CG and high MOI are also achieved, thanks to Cobra’s E9 and BiO CELL technologies.
Traditional vs. Combo set
The differences between the traditional vs. combo set are quite clear. In the combo set you get a 3-4 Hybrid and a 4-5 hybrid, along with 5 iron through PW. In the traditional, you’ll get 3 through LW in right-hand sets and 3 through SW in left-hand.
Also, the hybrids in the combo set feature Cobra’s MyFly8 technology. This is important for a couple of reasons:
- The golfer can test and choose from 8 different settings on each hybrid.
- This allows players to ‘dial in’ distances and trajectories that best suit their game.
