It’s a rare thing to have a player defend a championship. Rarer still to have a player defend his ‘home’ championship. That’s exactly what Adam Scott did over the weekend, capturing his second Aussie Masters title in consecutive years (was also his second victory in consecutive weeks).
Scott made his way around Royal Melbourne at even par on Sunday, for a total of 14-under 270 and a two-shot triumph over American Matt Kuchar. The defeat was especially tough for Kuchar, as he was ahead by two with four to play when he double-bogeyed the 18th, opening the door for Scott.
