Earlier this year, Masters champ Adam Scott inked a deal with the apparel company Uniqlo. While the company has had key endorsements in place in other sports (namely Novak Djokovic in tennis), this deal is the first venture for the company in the golfing world.
Commenting on the deal, Scott said:
I am thrilled to have been appointed as a Uniqlo Global Brand Ambassador. I have come across Uniqlo many times in my travels, and frequently visit Uniqlo stores. It is a brand with an established history of innovation, offering high quality clothing backed by quality materials and an attention to detail.
Uniqlo targets solid individuals as brand ambassadors. Success and the desire to give back to their communities is important.
“Our Brand Ambassador initiative targets individuals who are not only successful and ambitious in their own right, but also socially conscious and driven to give back to society,” said Tadashi Yanai , president and CEO of Fast Retailing Chairman.
“From this perspective, Mr. Scott is a wonderful addition. Uniqlo understands, and appreciates, Mr. Scott’s determination to become the best golfer in the world. As a company, we aim to provide clothing that meets the needs of anyone, anywhere. Given its widespread following worldwide and accessibility regardless of age, golf is a good match for us. Through this kind of initiative, we aim to improve the lives of people the world over.”
For more information on Uniqlo, head over to their website. I have to admit, the collections, weekly pics and featured selections often draw me in. There’s also a section featuring Adam Scott’s 2013 Masters style. Check it out.
