I’ve always enjoyed the look, feel and workability of blade irons. Yet, I also enjoy the forgiveness and extra distance of a perimeter weighted iron. Weighing those two options has always been a tough decision for me… However, thanks to the folks at Cobra, I may not have to any more. Their new AMP CELL Pro irons combine the best of both worlds into one sharp looking set.
Designed for the ‘better player’, these forged irons were designed with the help of their tour staff, including Rickie Fowler. In fact, they used Rickie’s prototype AMP Pro irons to refine this set, resulting in a sharp looking combo set for the low handicap golfer.
As you can see in the product shot above, the long irons feature a dual cavity. This makes them a bit easier to strike, and offers some extra distance. The 7 and 8 iron feature just one cavity for a touch more feel. Finally, the 9 iron, pitching wedge and gap wedge are full muscle back for extreme feel and control around the greens.
- Tour inspired blade look and feel
- Forged 1020 carbon steel
- Low glare, soft satin finish
- True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 shafts (stock)
- Golf Pride New Decade MCC Whiteout grips (stock)
The set is traditionally available in 3 iron through pitching wedge. However, you can get your hands on a 2 iron or gap wedge through a custom order.
An all muscle back set (awesome) is also available through custom order.
